Barcelona coach and former Spain midfielder Pep Guardiola has showered huge praise on Raul by proclaiming that he is the best Spanish footballer of all time.
The 33-year-old left Real Madrid last month after over 15 years with los Blancos' first-team to join Bundesliga club Schalke on a free transfer. Raul won the Spanish Primera Liga six times and the Champions League on three occasions with the Spanish giants.
Pep Guardiola is a former Spain international team-mate of 'El Capitan' and was also his rival during the Barcelona-Real Madrid Clasicos.
However, the Catalan has only good words to say about Raul and hailed the Blancos legend in a press conference ahead of the Blaugrana's pre-season game in South Korea on Wednesday.
"With Raul's departure, goes the best player of all time in Spanish football. The numbers speak for themselves."
Raul signed a two-year contract with Schalke and has already become a popular figure with his new club, scoring two goals in the 3-1 victory against German champions Bayern Munich in the LIGA Total! Cup final on Sunday afternoon.
