Malaga are on the brink of appointing Jesualdo Ferreira as their new coach, according to a report in AS.
The Portuguese manager is currently without a job after leaving Porto by mutual consent after four years at the helm of the Dragons.
He will take over from Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz, who has been linked with the exit door at Malaga following the club's sale to Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani.
Reports in Spain indicate Ferreira met with the Malaga hierarchy on Wednesday night, but the former Benfica and Braga coach was coy when asked about the possibility of moving to La Rosaleda.
"If it is confirmed, it will be a great opportunity for me; something very beautiful and which makes me really excited," he told AS.
Ferreira, who has never coached outside Portugal, guided Porto to three league titles during his time at the Estadio do Dragao.
