Champions League hopefuls Valencia are considering making a move for Genoa midfielder Alberto Zapater in the upcoming summer transfer window, if a report in El Periodico de Aragon is to be believed.
Los Che are in the market for a new midfielder due to the possible departure of Ever Banega to Liverpool at the end of the season and Valencia coach Unai Emery reportedly sees Zapater as the perfect replacement.
Zapater played the majority of his career at Real Zaragoza, but left the Spanish side for an adventure with Serie A side Genoa in the summer of 2009. The former Spain under-21 star has impressed in his first season with the Italian outfit.
However, the 24-year-old is reportedly eager to return to Spain and a transfer to Valencia could now be on the horizon for Zapater. It remains uncertain how Genoa feel about letting go of the energetic midfielder though.
