New Valencia Defender Ricardo Costa Looking To Close The Gap On Real Madrid & Barcelona Next Season

Portuguese defender ready to work hard for his new club...
New Valencia defender Ricardo Costa has declared that los Che must make it harder for champions Barcelona and Real Madrid to win the Primera Liga title next season.

Valencia finished 25 points behind Real and 28 behind the Blaugrana this term and the Portuguese centre back, who arrived on  four year deal from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, is looking forward to working towards closing that gap next season.

"I signed a four year contract with Valencia. My expectations are to go to work, work, work with the aim of achieving the goals of the team and not let Barcelona or Real Madrid win the league as easily," he said, as quoted by Super Deporte.

The 29-year-old also expressed his happiness at being included in the Portugal squad for the World Cup finals in South Africa.

"I am satisfied to wear the shirt of Portugal again. It is very important to reconnect with this family after so long. I think I had a good season and that's why I'm there," he added.
