Valencia Target Mehmet Topal: It Would Be An Honour To Play In Spain

Galatasaray midfielder Mehmet Topal has hinted that recent rumours of interest from Valencia may have some substance by stating that he would be honoured to play in the Primera Liga.

Recent reports in Super Deporte have suggested that los Che have been watching the 24-year-old and have already entered negotiations with the Turkish outfit, with personal terms on a switch apparently agreed upon.

"Of course I would like to play in Spain," Topal is quoted as saying.

"I'm proud to play for a team like Galatasaray, but the doors of Europe are open for next season and I don't want to miss this opportunity. Of course I would like to go to Europe. I've seen most of the English Premier League and Primera Liga and I like it and to play there would be an honour."

While talk of a transfer appeal to Topal, the Turkey international has stressed that he is fully focused on helping Gala for the remainder of the season.

"We have a lot to play for in the next four weeks," he stated.
