Sao Paulo full-back Cicinho has admitted he felt like a prisoner at his former club Real Madrid, claiming that there was a bad atmosphere at the club and that he will never regret leaving the Spanish giants.
"When I moved from Real Madrid to AS Roma, I felt liberated. I was a prisoner there. The environment at Real was really bad,” he told Tv Bate Bola.
Cicinho, who joined los Merengues from Sao Paulo in 2007, is currently enjoying a loan-move back in his homeland and he went on to criticise Real Madrid forward Raul.
“Raul was the light of journalists, he was telling reporters things we said in the locker room. After Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo left the club, they lost their force.”
Finally, the 29-year-old claimed there was a tendency to polarise certain players and criticised the club’s treatment of current Real star Kaka.
At Real Madrid there is a tendency to alienate. Look at how they are now criticising Kaka, the best in the world," he concluded.
