No Robinho Contact Since The Summer - Barcelona Chief Txiki Begiristain

All the talk about Barcelona being in negotiations about a move for the forward are not true, according to Begiristain...
Barcelona have not made any official bids and have not enquired  about Manchester City's Robinho since the summer despite all the reports to the contrary.

Technical secretary Txiki Begiristain spoke out after several days of speculation linked the Blaugrana with a winter move for the Brazilian star.

Reports of a loan deal or promises of certain players, such as Yaya Toure or Thierry Henry, to be included in talks between the clubs are all wide of the mark, according to the Barca director.

"Robinho is an interesting player, who we asked for last summer," Begiristain was quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.

"City refused to talk of transfers and since then we have not made any movement."

Robinho himself is reported to have said that he would like to play for Barcelona, while the English club have publicly stated that they are not keen to sell.

Rumours continue to surface though with the latest being that City will look to sign Diego Tardelli to replace the wantaway former Real Madrid forward.
