Unai Emery Wants To Keep Promising Midfielder Michel At Valencia

The midfield starlet could be given a chance to shine in the upcoming season…

Valencia are hoping to unearth yet another midfield gem in the shape of Miguel Angel Herrero, or simply Michel.

The 20-year-old made his debut for the senior side just over six months ago and he has since become a permanent fixture in the squad list, even making 13 appearances in total last campaign.

The central midfielder was impressive in Los Che’s opening pre-season friendly win against ADO Den Haag on Thursday, scoring one of the goals in the 4-1 victory, and it was enough to convince the coach, Unai Emery.

“I am very satisfied with him,” he was quoted as saying by Goal.com Spain. “Unless there is a lot of movement in the transfer market, he will remain with us.

“The new and young players are working well. They have been working hard and they are very motivated.

“It is important to increase the level of this squad because we need to be at our best for another long season.”
