Jordi Codina Leaves Real Madrid For Getafe - Report

Los Blancos’ third-choice goalkeeper is set to complete a move to their local rivals...

Getafe have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign goalkeeper Jordi Codina, according to sources close to the club as reported by AS.

The Spanish paper also believes that the 27-year-old, who was only promoted to Los Blancos’ first team in 2007, will sign a three-year deal with Los Azulones, where he is expected to play second fiddle to Oscar Ustari.

He will join El Geta on a free transfer but it is suspected that Madrid have inserted a clause that would allow them to repurchase the ‘keeper for a small fee in the future.

Codina will become Getafe’s third transfer this summer, following the arrivals of Manel and Pedro Rios, while he would be only the second Madrid player to be offloaded by Florentino Perez, after Javier Saviola. Defender Fabio Cannavaro had agreed to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for Juventus before the new administration came into power.
