Espanyol Goalkeeper Carlos Kameni: I Would Like To Play For Bordeaux

Bordeaux are at the front of the queue to land Carlos Kameni on a free transfer at the end of the season after the keeper made it clear he liked what they had offered...

Carlos Kameni has told Bordeaux that he would like to play for them after receiving an offer to join the French club on a free transfer from Espanyol at the end of the season.

The Cameroonian ‘keeper has made it clear that during an initial round of talks, Laurent Blanc's side make him an offer that was close to what he was demanding.

Out of contract this summer, Kameni has numerous admirers, including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. Indeed, it is suggested by AS that more could add themselves to the list once the first concrete talks begin with the keeper.

But Bordeaux's interest has provoked a reaction from the custodian and he has publicly stated that he would be tempted to move to the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

"Bordeaux are a very good club and I would be extremely proud to be part of them," Kameni said.

"My agent has already been in contact with them and their offer was a good one."

If Paris Saint-Germain enter the running to sign Kameni, it is likely to unsettle the club's current first choice goalkeeper, Mickael Landreau.
