Solano Makes Larissa Debut

Former English Premier League star and Peru international Nolberto Solano has made his first appearances in Larissa colours, coming on as a substitute after the half-time interval and setting up his new side’s second goal in a 2-0 win over Ethnikos Olympiakos Volos on Sunday.
Marinos Ouzounidis – who recently took charge of Larissa following an unsuccessful second season with Cypriot club APOEL – also gave a debut to another new recruit, 25 year-old Croatian goalkeeper Tomislav Vranjic, who also came on as a second-half substitute.

Larissa took the lead after 16 minutes of play, through former Celtic striker and Poland international Maciej Zurawski, before Solano replaced him at half-time. The Peruvian then combined with former Newcastle team-mate Nikos Dabizas, delivering a free-kick which the Greek international headed home in the 54th minute.
