Korea: Freiburg's Cha Du-Ri Excited About Ending International Exile Against Senegal

The German-based star is ready for action in Seoul...
2002 World Cup star Cha Du-ri is delighted to be back with the South Korea national team after an absence of three years.

The Bundesliga-based wing-back has not featured for the national team since October 2006 but a series of good performances for Freiburg have earned his a summons for a friendly with Senegal in Seoul on Wednesday evening.

The 29 year-old is battling with Oh Beom-seok for the right-back starting berth against the Lions of Teranga and is looking forward to it.

"If I had no confidence, I would not come back to the national team," Cha said.

"I am a little nervous because it's been a long time ago since I've gotten together with national team members.

“But all of us came here to play football. During the practice I will get used to everything again," added the 29 year-old.

"I was a member of the team that was a semi-finalist at the World Cup and I have been playing in Europe for a few years. But the proudest thing for me is to be called now, while I am playing in the Bundesliga."
