Player Ratings: Fiorentina 0-1 Inter (Agg. 0-2)

Frey: 6.5
- He had no chance of saving Eto'o's goal, and in truth had very little else to deal with from the visitors but made one excellent save from Balotelli.

De Silvestri: 6 - A mixed night for the youngster, showing his promise with an excellent challenge on Eto'o in the first half but then gifted possession to Balotelli moments later.

Natali: 6 - Partnered Kroldrup well and generally kept a cool head in defence, but struggled when he was face-to-face with Eto'o and occasionally hesitant in the challenge.

Kroldrup: 6.5 - Dominant in the air against both Balotelli and Eto'o, asserting himself and trying to cover for Felipe's errors.

Felipe: 5.5 - Fortunate that Inter didn't attack more often as he had no answer to Maicon's runs on the right hand side, allowing him to cut inside far too easily.

Montolivo: 6 - Tried several times to find the net from range but didn't succeed with any of them, and his attempts to rally the side after going 1-0 down also proved to be in vain.

Zanetti: 6.5 - His vision and creativity are a great asset to Fiorentina; he played two superb balls to find Gilardino in the penalty area and was unfortunate not to see one of them converted.

Marchionni: 6 - He had no shortage of opportunities to put the ball into the box, but sometimes had few targets to aim for. Worked tirelessly on the wing.

Jovetic: 6.5 - Always posed a threat when the ball was at his feet, either on the flanks or through the centre, but he didn't quite have the finishing touch in front of goal.

Vargas: 5.5 - Went into the book in the third minute for a dangerous challenge on Muntari. His crossing was poor all evening and he was hooked after an hour.

Gilardino: 5 - Unlucky to see a shot cleared off the line on 25 minutes, but he dallied on the ball when one-on-one with Julio Cesar minutes later as he wasted Fiorentina's best chance of the game.

Santana: 5.5 - The game was rapidly falling away from Fiorentina by the time he was introduced.

Keirrison: 5 - Couldn't adapt to the match at all after coming on.

Gobbi: 5.5 - A desperate last throw of the dice by Prandelli.

Julio Cesar: 6
- Saved by Lucio's goal-line clearance in the first half, but an otherwise routine evening between the posts for the out-of-sorts Brazilian.

Cordoba: 5.5 - Struggled to contain Jovetic at times, picking up a yellow card for a foul on the Montenegrin forward, but was otherwise solid.

Materazzi: 6.5 - Wasn't afraid to get stuck in, using all of his experience to keep Gilardino and Keirrison at arm's length from the Inter goal.

Lucio: 7 - Made a vital clearance off the line from Gilardino in the first half, and made several spectacular clearances to relieve the pressure on the Nerazzurri backline.

Chivu: 6.5 - He was caught out of position on the half hour mark but he recovered to make a great block on Gilardino's shot. Could have doubled the lead late on.

Maicon: 7 - Revelled in his more attacking role ahead of Cordoba, making some powerful runs at the Fiorentina defence, but did not neglect his defensive responsibilities.

Zanetti: 6 - Battled well in the midfield, winning a number of balls to halt Fiorentina attacks, and still had the energy to run at the hosts' backline in the final 10 minutes.

Muntari: 5.5 - Managed to remain on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes without getting booked, but he did give away possession on a few too many occasions.

Thiago Motta: 7.5 - Wesley Sneijder's absence was hardly felt as the former Genoa man played a number of dangerous balls towards the strikers, including a superb chipped pass to set up the goal.

Eto'o: 7.5 - His movement was a problem for the Fiorentina defence for much of the night. It was almost impossible for him to miss the target just before the hour but he struck a shot past Frey to put the tie beyond the hosts.

Balotelli: 6 - He should have scored after 20 minutes before nearly finding the net with a long-distance strike just after half-time. Subbed on the hour and didn't look happy with the decision at all.

Cambiasso: 6 - Brought on after Eto'o's goal in order to shore up the midfield, and was typically combative in the middle of the park.

Milito: 5.5 - On the periphery of the game as Inter settled back on the edge of their own penalty area.

Mariga: N/A - Replaced Thiago Motta with 10 minutes to go.
