Player Ratings: CSKA Moscow 0-1 Inter (Agg. 0-2)

CSKA MOSCOW

Akinfeev: 6.5 - Looked a little flat-footed for the free kick as he barely reacted to the shot, but he made several good saves in the second half to keep the scoreline respectable.

A Berezutski: 6 - Made a good tackle on Balotelli late in the second half but the game was long gone by then.

V Berezutski: N/A - Replaced after just 14 minutes by Odiah after CSKA went 1-0 down early on.

Ignashevich: 7 - Another impressive performance at the back from the Russian as he generally limited Inter to long range shots, while he also made a couple of fine interceptions at key moments.

Schennikov: 6.5 - Made some promising runs down the left hand side to offer Gonzalez another option, and was one of CSKA's most lively players in the final third.

Semberas: 6 - Covered a lot of ground as he tried to stay tight to the Nerazzurri midfielders, but was fighting a losing battle after CSKA went down to 10 men.

Mamaev: 6 - Had little luck in opening up the Inter defence on the right hand side or through the middle, and he took out his frustrations with a rash challenge on Cambiasso late on.

Honda: 5 - Played Ignashevich into trouble in the build up to the free kick that resulted in the goal, and should have got something in the way of the shot itself.

Dzagoev: 5.5 - Should have done much better with a shot in the 35th minute but suffered from a rush of blood to the head and his effort was scuffed completely.

Gonzalez: 5.5 - Brought a good save from Julio Cesar just before the hour, but it wasn't his most productive night as his crosses often failed to beat the first man.

Necid: 6 - Worked hard up front and nearly scored with a fine turn and shot on the edge of the box, but he lacked support throughout and had very little to go on.

Substitutes:

Odiah: 4.5 - Occasionally posed a threat on the right hand side, but his needless second yellow card in the 49th minute marked the end of CSKA's hopes of getting back into the tie.

Guilherme: 5.5 - The fact he didn't pose as much of a physical threat as Necid was clear as he chose not to head a tempting Gonzalez cross in favour of trying to bring it down in a crowded penalty area.

Rahimic: 5.5 - The usually reliable midfielder almost gave away a goal just after coming on.

INTER

Julio Cesar: 6.5
- The Brazilian number one didn't have a lot to do but made a couple of good saves from Odiah and Gonzalez to allay any nerves.

Maicon: 6 - Didn't see him break forward quite as often as he did in the first leg, and seemed to be clutching his thigh in the final minutes.

Samuel: 6.5 - Made a fine challenge on Dzagoev in the closing minutes and ensured that the majority of CSKA's shots were from at least 20 yards out.

Lucio: 6.5 - Solid at the back once again, dealing with the physical threat of Necid well and didn't allow Guilherme time to settle into the game.

Zanetti: 6 - Given problems by Krasic's pace in the first leg but never tested by Odiah while he was on the pitch. Shifted forward into midfield after Chivu's introduction.

Cambiasso: 7 - The Argentine can always be relied on to provide a steely performance when required, and he stuck to his guns to ensure CSKA had little time on the ball in midfield.

Stankovic: 5.5 - Gave the ball away in midfield too many times for Jose Mourinho's liking while only one of his four shots from range brought a save from Akinfeev.

Pandev: 5.5 - Always looked to cut inside onto his left foot but dallied in possession, resulting in his team-mates moving into offside positions. Replaced on the hour by Chivu.

Eto'o: 6.5 - Got himself into a goalscoring position on several occasions but was never quite able to pull the trigger in time and bring a meaningful save from Akinfeev.

Sneijder: 7.5 - Scored with a well-taken free kick that flashed under the CSKA wall, and in his playmaking capacity he was involved in nearly all of Inter's attacking moves.

Milito: 5.5 - Had two opportunities to score when he was through on goal but couldn't beat Akinfeev either side of the break, and he was hooked for Balotelli with 15 minutes to go.

Substitutes:

Chivu: 6 - Another solid shift from the Romanian as he continues his recovery from a skull fracture.

Balotelli: 6 - Almost found himself through on goal soon after coming on, only for Berezutski to make a last-ditch tackle.

Muntari: N/A - Managed not to get himself sent off in the five minutes he was on the pitch.
