Player Ratings: Inter 2–0 Lazio

Inter moved one step closer to winning to Scudetto with a comfortable victory over Lazio tonight. Goal.com rates the players on show.
INTER

Julio Cesar: 7.0- Brazil’s No. 1 made a few good saves in the first half, especially from Zarate, but he was not troubled at all in the second period.

Santon: 6.0- The young Primavera product tangled with Del Nero on a couple of occasions when he went forward, and was sacrificed when Mourinho opted for more of an attacking formation.

Samuel: 7.0- The tough as nails defender picked up an early yellow card but that did not stop him from shutting down Rocchi and Zarate.

Cordoba: 7.0- The Colombian centre-back was calm and composed and won everything that came his way in the air tonight

Chivu: 7.0- Assumed a left-back role this evening and did not look out of place at all; he could even have grabbed a rare goal late on.

Zanetti: 6.5- Inter’s influential captain was a calming presence when things were not going the Beneamata’s way in the first half. Did an excellent job of keeping a tight lid on Ledesma in the midfield.

Cambiasso: 6.0- ‘El Chuchu’ had a quiet match by his lofty standards and failed to make an impact tonight. An uncharacteristically average performance from the holding midfielder.

Muntari: 7.0- The Nerazzurri’s best summer signing missed a glorious chance in the 30th minute and atoned for his earlier chance with the goal that put the match to bed.

Mancini: 5.0- The much maligned midfielder did not do his already dwindling reputation any good with his poor performance tonight. Was caught offside numerous times and was jeered by the Nerazzurri faithful when he was substituted.

Figo: 7.5- Played in a delicious ball to set up Ibrahimovic in the 23rd minute and was a major creative threat from the Inter midfield.

Ibrahimovic: 8.0- The Swedish sensation took matters into his own hands as he blasted a shot past Muslera to give Inter the lead and then sealed the deal when he set up Muntari for Inter’s second goal of the game.

SUBS: Crespo (55”) 6.0, Vieira (55”) 6.0, Burdisso (75”) 6.0

LAZIO

Muslera: 6.0- The Uruguayan keeper has been a revelation lately and commanded his area with supreme confidence, but could do nothing to prevent the two Inter goals.

Radu: 6.0- The Romanian defender did not make any glaring errors but could not match the productivity of his compatriot Chivu.

Rozenhal: 5.5- The ex-Newcastle man put in an admirable shift in the first half before Ibrahimovic tore him apart in the second 45 minutes.

Siviglia: 5.0- The veteran Italian defender was not troubled at all in the first half but it was a much different story in the second period as he had no answer to Ibra’s genius.

Kolarov: 6.0- The Serbian international with a rocket for a left foot will be left disappointed that he failed to hit the target twice from set-pieces in the first half.

Brocchi: 6.0- The former AC Milan man worked his socks off in the midfield and battled Cambiasso to a standstill.

Matuzalem: 6.0- It was a tale of two halves for the normally impressive Brazilian as he shut down the Inter attack in the first 45 minutes before tiring out in the second half.

Ledesma: 5.0- The usual architect of the Biancocelesti attack was nowhere to be found this evening. A poor performance from the Argentine midfielder.

Del Nero: 6.0- He was a surprise starter in place of Foggia tonight, but he battled hard, especially against Santon, and earned his paycheque.

Zarate: 7.0- The Argentine hitman was a real threat every time he touched the ball and almost gave his team the lead in the 36th minute with a long distance laserbeam.

Rocchi: 5.5- The Aquilotti captain tested Julio Cesar in the ninth minute but was virtually anonymous after that, especially in the second half.

SUBS: Foggia (63”) 6.0, Lichtsteiner (72”) 5.5, Kozak (84”) NA
