Official: Man City tie Denayer to new deal

Jason Denayer has signed a new five-year contract at Manchester City, the club have confirmed.

Denayer spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Scottish giants Celtic, making 44 appearances in all competitions and helping the club win both the Scottish Premiership and the League Cup.

The 20-year-old impressed at Celtic, picking up both the league and the club's Young Player of the Year awards, and he has now committed his future to City.

City have trebled Denayer's wages, with the youngster now earning £20,000-per-week (€28,000), and Manuel Pellegrini is believed to be keen to include the defender in his first-team squad this season.

Denayer's displays north of the border also earned him an international call-up, with the Belgian making his debut in a Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel in March, and he will take part in City's tour of Australia this summer.
