Roma bid for Luiz Adriano too low, say Shakhtar

Roma must up their offer if they want to sign Luiz Adriano this month, Shakhtar Donetsk's CEO has said.

The Giallorossi have been looking to bolster their attacking options in the January transfer window and have been linked with a move for the Brazilian striker.

Shakhtar director Sergei Palkin has revealed talks are still ongoing between the clubs over a potential deal, but says the current bid on the table is too low.

"We're still dealing with the Giallorossi for Luiz Adriano," he told Footballua.tv. "But for the moment the offer is inadequate.

"We'll see what will happen over the next few days."

Luiz Adriano, 27, has scored 14 goals in 20 appearances for Shakhtar so far this season, including nine in the group phase of the Champions League.

Roma have already strengthened their squad this month, with Rudi Garcia's side completing the permanent signing of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa this week, while talks are continuing for Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka.
