AC Milan reach agreement with Catania for loan signing of Maxi Lopez - report

The Serie A champions have everything in place to sign the former Barcelona striker, but will only do so if they fail to land Manchester City outcast Carlos Tevez
AC Milan have reached an agreement with Catania for the loan signing of Maxi Lopez, Sky Sport 24 claims.

It is reported, however, that the accord has been suspended for 10 days, as Milan work around the clock to sign Manchester City's Carlos Tevez.

The former Corinthians and West Ham star, who has been frozen out at the Etihad Stadium by Roberto Mancini, is the Rossoneri's number-one target to replace the recovering Antonio Cassano, who recently underwent heart surgery.

In the case that Milan fail in their efforts to sign Tevez by the end of the next week, the Serie A champions will complete the deal for Lopez instead.

The 27-year-old striker, a former player of River Plate and Barcelona, has been a regular first-team member at Catania since joining the club in 2010.

Lopez himself has made no secret about his wish to move to San Siro, recently stating that he "wants to help Zlatan Ibrahimovic win the Champions League".
