Inter are set to make a move to sign Internacional centre-back Juan, Globoesporte reports.
The Serie A giants have already been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old during the summer transfer window, when they were battling Napoli for the defender's signature.
It is believed that Inter officials are expected in Brazil at the weekend to continue negotiations for Juan, who will reportedly cost a fee in the region of €5 million.
Earlier in the month, the Under-20 World Cup winner admitted he had learned of Inter's interest through his agent.
Internacional have made a gargantuan effort to hold on to their prized assets, but Juan's sale will give the club some much-needed breathing room, as interest in striker Leandro Damiao piles up.
Meanwhile Calcio Mercato reports that Fiorentina star Juan Manuel Vargas has emerged as the club's top target in midfield.
The Peruvian midfielder is desired by Claudio Ranieri to strengthen his team down the left-hand side, as they look to arrest the poor form which has seen them slip to 16th in the Serie A standings. Genoa's Rodrigo Palacio is also being followed by the 2010 Champions League winners, but it is believed that Vargas presents a more accessible option than the Argentine.
