Mamadou Niang is the latest player to flee Turkish club Fenerbahce, who confirmed he has joined Qatari club Al Sadd.

The move comes just days after the 31-year-old Senegal striker handed in a transfer request following the match-fixing scandal that has engulfed the club over the summer.

A statement released by Fenerbahce on Tuesday reads: "A transfer agreement for the sale of Mamadou Niang to Al Sadd for the sum of €7.5 million has been reached."

Niang joined the Turkish side last year and scored 15 goals in 29 games in the Super Lig as he led them to the 2010-11 title.
