Official: Massimo Oddo leaves AC Milan for Lecce loan

The veteran defender has left San Siro to head south where he will play on loan at the Via Del Mare this season
AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo has joined Lecce on a season-long loan deal, the Milanese club said in a statement.

Oddo, who returned to San Siro in 2009 from Bayern Munich, has struggled to make an impact.

He started just three games last term, and with the arrivals of Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo, space in Massimiliano Allegri's side had become further limited this season.

However, he now has a chance to revive the embers of his career with Lecce.

A statement on Milan's official site reads:

"AC Milan communicates that Massimo Oddo has been allowed to join US Lecce on loan."

Financial details were not disclosed.
