CSKA Moscow want Manchester United's Tomasz Kuszczak to cover for Igor Akinfeev injury - report

CSKA Moscow are looking to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak as a replacement for the injured Igor Akinfeev, according to reports.

The current CSKA number one Akinfeev could be out for up to six months with a knee injury and he is set for further scans on the problem.

And, according to a report in The Sun, Kuszczak may be the club’s preferred target, with United apparently willing to let the Polish international leave after he has failed to sustain a first-team place in his four years at the club.

The club have been keen to find a buyer for the former West Bromwich man with David de Gea and Anders Lindegaard ahead of him in the pecking order.

With the initial fears that Akinfeev’s injury is serious, Kuszczak could get the move he wants on transfer deadline day, to cover for the man who himself has been linked with a move to United on various occasions.

Ben Amos is also looking to secure a loan move out of Old Trafford with a number of Championship clubs eyeing the 21-year old.
