Inter attempt final move for Genoa's Rodrigo Palacio - report

Inter are set to make a last-ditch move for Genoa forward Rodrigo Palacio, but it could cost them more than €8 million.

Il Corriere dello Sport comments that the Italian club spent the night in discussions with the 29-year-old where they reached a basic agreement.

Inter are expected to pay Genoa around €8m, which includes half of goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano's rights as part of a deal.

However, it seems the move is being held up by Genoa, as they are trying to bring in a forward of their own before releasing Palacio.

Their move for Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino appears to have failed, but it is said Catania's Maxi Lopez may yet arrive as the transfer window comes to a close on Wednesday.

The proposed transfer comes less than a day after Inter president Massimo Moratti said he did not expect any further additions following the arrival of Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid.
