Diego Forlan terminates Atletico Madrid contract - report

The 2011 Copa America winner appears to be on the brink of completing a move to Inter after it was suggested he has terminated his contract with the Spanish outfit
Diego Forlan has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to terminate his contract by mutual consent, news daily Marca claims.

The Uruguay international appears to be on the verge of completing a move to Inter, who have been short of numbers in the attack following the departure of Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala earlier in the summer.

It was expected that Forlan's transfer to the Serie A side would see Atletico receive a fee in the region of €5 million, but Spanish sources suggest the striker will move for nothing.

Forlan will reportedly give a press conference in the VIP room at the Vicente Calderon on Monday to announce his departure from Atletico, whom he joined in 2007 from Villarreal for a reported €23 million fee.
