AC Milan are plotting a move for Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita as an alternative to the injured Mathieu Flamini.
The former Arsenal man has been ruled out for up to five months after suffering knee ligament damage last week.
And the Corriere dello Sport reports Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is currently in talks with club CEO Adriano Galliani over bringing in Keita as cover.
Flamini has been told he needs surgery, leaving Allegri short of options despite Alberto Aquilani's loan signing.
The coach wants Aquilani to play further forward, and he needs an alternative to Flamini, with Keita fitting the specifications sought at San Siro.
Keita, 31, has been a pillar in Pep Guardiola's side, but following the arrival of Cesc Fabregas and the emergence of Thiago Alcantara he may find space in the first XI limited.
