Ahmed Akaichi’s Ingolstadt move finalised

Ahmed Akaichi has left his native Tunisia for Ingolstadt on a three-year-deal with the Bavarian side

Tunisian international striker Ahmed Akaichi’s three-year-contract with Bundesliga 2 side Ingolstadt has been officially announced on the club’s official website. The transfer fee paid to the player’s previous club, Etoile Sportive du Sahel, has not been made public but the it is rumoured to be between €500,000 and €700,000.

The centre forward led his team and the entire Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 with 14 goals this season and also became a consistent call-up to the Carthage Eagles, thus drawing the attention of foreign suitors.

“It’s a dream for me to play for Ingolstadt. I want to develop myself and improve on my good performances from Tunisia here,” said Akaichi at his unveiling.

The Bizerte native’s move to Ingolstadt was originally reported to be on a four-year contract in the Tunisian press but Die Schanzer have settled on three instead.
