Olympique Lyonnais target Inter's MacDonald Mariga - report

The Kenyan midfielder has been used in a squad rotation system at the Italian club and Lyon could offer him a way out as they look to bolster their midfield
Olympique Lyonnais are weighing up a bid for Inter midfielder MacDonald Mariga, according to a report from RMC.

The French giants are understood to be in the market for a central midfielder following the €10 million sale of Jeremy Toulalan to Malaga earlier in the summer.

Auxerre's Delvin N'Dinga has been suggested as a strong possibility, but Mariga has now reportedly emerged as a candidate to join the Stade Gerland outfit, too.

The Kenya international, 24, joined Inter from Parma in February of 2010, but he has been something of a bit-part player at the Serie A side.

RMC reports that N'Dinga tops Lyon's preference and that the seven-time Ligue 1 champions will only move for Mariga if Auxerre reject the possibility of parting with the Congo international.
