Daniel Wass has completed his season-long loan move to Evian Thonon Gaillard from Benfica, the Ligue 1 team have announced.
The Danish defender joined up with Bernard Casoni's outfit yesterday despite moving to the Portuguese giants from Brondby on a five-year deal in May.
Wass, who can operate at right-back and on the right wing, rose to prominence with a series of solid defensive displays at the beginning of last season. Thanks to his buccaneering and adventurous attacking instincts, the defender was pushed up to the right wing where his three goals at the end of the season helped the Danish club to third place in the table and subsequently secured him a move to Benfica.
Wass told Evian Thonon Gaillard's official website: ''My ambition is to get more playing time but also to become an even better footballer. I hope I can express my qualities and help the club maintain it's top division status.''
Wass' form for Brondby, which led to his recent switch to Benfica, was also noticed by Denmark coach, Morten Olsen, who has awarded the player with two international caps.
