Official: Wolfsburg sign Marco Russ from Eintracht Frankfurt

Defender follows Patrick Ochs in making the move from Main river to Lower Saxony, having put pen to paper on a three-year contract
Marco Russ has officially completed his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt to Wolfsburg, the Lower Saxony club revealed on their official website.

Having penned a three-year contract, the 25-year old centre-back joins the 2009 Bundesliga champions for an undisclosed figure, believed to be in the region of €3.5 million.

"I've said from the beginning that we would definitely sign a central defender and I'm very glad things worked out with Marco," coach and general manager Felix Magath said.

Russ joined Frankfurt as a youth and spent eight years at the club before making his debut in 2004. He made 159 Bundesliga appearances for the Hessian side, but now moves following their relegation.

At Wolfsburg, Russ joins former team-mate Patrick Ochs, who also played with Frankfurt until his transfer earlier this summer.
