Alou Diarra has completed his transfer from Bordeaux to Olympique Marseille, having penned a three-year contract at the Stade Velodrome.

A statement released by Marseille on Monday confirmed the move and he will join the rest of the squad for pre-season later today.

An extract of the statement reads: "Alou Diarra has joined Marseille. He joined the club on Monday at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus centre and he will meet up with his new team-mates tonight."

Last week, the 2010 Ligue 1 champions had announced they had reached an agreement in principle for the France international, but neither Marseille nor Bordeaux disclosed any financial details.

Diarra joined Bordeaux from Lyon in 2007 shortly after winning the Ligue 1 title at the Stade Gerland. He also won a French championship in 2009 with his former club.
