Issam Jemaa joins AJ Auxerre for four seasons

The Tunisian striker has cut short his stay at relegated RC Lens despite having a contract with the “Blood and Gold” that ran until 2013

Tunisian international forward Issam Jemaa has signed a four-year contract with AJ Auxerre. The transfer sum and the financial details of the contract have yet to be revealed but the player confirmed his move while speaking to Mosaique FM on Thursday evening.

“Yes, you can say congratulations now because I just signed less than a half an hour ago. It’s a four-year contract that we just agreed on,” said the former Esperance representative.

This will be Jemaa’s third destination in French Ligue 1 after representing RC Lens and being loaned to CAEN during the 2007-08 season. The 27 year old was rumoured to be a possible transfer target for Olympique de Marseille recently but a transfer failed to materialize.
