Real Madrid will not offer more than €15 million and a player to sign Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao, news daily Marca claims.
The Portugal international has been linked with a switch to Real Madrid since the end of the season, but the two clubs have so far failed to come to an understanding regarding the transfer fee.
Benfica are hoping to honour the player's €30m release clause, but it has been reported in Portugal they would give up on their player for €25 million if they also received one of Madrid's players as part of the deal.
Defender Ezequiel Garay and midfielders Royston Drenthe and Pablo Sarabia have been suggested as players Benfica would like to see included in their squad for the 2011-12 campaign.
And though the Spanish giants appear to be open to the idea of using one of the trio as a makeweight, they are reportedly reluctant to splash out more than €15 million in Coentrao, who has a contract with Benfica until 2016.
