Former Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini is reportedly red hot favourite to be installed as the new coach of Inter.
Italian sources are suggesting Gasperini became Inter's number one option after a meeting with the club's president, Massimo Moratti, on Wednesday afternoon.
Gasperini, who coached Juventus' youth ranks for nearly a decade, has been without a job since being sacked by Genoa in November of 2010 after a series of mixed results.
Reports in Italy suggest Gasperini has already come to an agreement with Inter and could be presented by the club on Thursday.
The Italian coach will fill the void created by the departure of Leonardo, who is poised to join Paris Saint-Germain as a sporting director.
