Michel Bastos’ agent is hopeful that Juventus and Olympique Lyonnais will reach an agreement over his transfer to Turin in the coming days.
The Brazil international has been linked with a move to the Italian giants this summer, and the wing-back has previously admitted his desire to play for the Serie A club.
Bastos’ agent, Emmanuel De Kerchove, who had denied earlier this month that the two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer of the 27-year-old, has now indicated that a deal could be struck soon.
“Lyon and Juventus are both tough negotiators,” he said, according to Tuttosport. “I’m optimistic, though, and I think something will be decided by the end of this week.”
Bastos joined Lyon from Lille in 2009 and has established himself as one of the finest left-sided players in Europe. His current contract with the French powerhouse runs until June 2013, but reports last week suggested that a fee in the region of €15 million had been agreed with Juve.
