Malaga have announced they have acquired the services of Hamburg defender Joris Mathijsen.
The Netherlands international will try his luck his Spain after spending the last five years at the Bundesliga outfit, whom he joined from AZ.
The figure involved in the deal has not been confirmed by either club, but Spanish sources suggest it to be in the region of €2.5 million.
Mathijsen has penned a two-year contract with Malaga, with a €20m release clause attached to the deal.
The defender has become the second Dutch player to join Malaga in the summer, following the signing of veteran striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
