The 2010-11 Ligue 1 winners, though, have not disclosed the length of the contract or the transfer fee paid to their French rivals.
Pedretti had been with Auxerre since 2006 and has established himself as one of the better defensive midfielders in France. The 30-year-old, who has been recruited to compensate for the departure of Yohan Cabaye to Newcastle United, had said earlier this week that he wants to play for Lille.
“It [Lille] is a very good club with great, interesting challenges,” enthused Pedretti. “Now, I hope the leaders of the two clubs will meet this week to agree. My choice is to come to Lille.
"I have been in contact with Lille for a little over a year now, mainly because they were preparing for the departure of Yohan Cabaye.
"But eventually he [Cabaye] stayed and we had the Champions League to play with Auxerre, so I stayed."
