Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has made it clear there are no means to negotiate a Domenico Criscito transfer to Milan, despite increasing pressure from Adriano Galliani.
Criscito, 24, has long been linked with Milan, who are looking to squeeze in one final transfer before the end of the window.
Previous reports suggested the Rossoneri's attempt at taking possession of Criscito had come unstuck over the unit of negotiation with Genoa keen on a sale, not a loan.
But Preziosi has said signs look weak.
"Galliani calls me every day and he called me again this morning, and will do so again tomorrow, " Preziosi told QSVS.it.
"He is a friend but I told him not to put me in difficulty as Criscito will not move until at least June.
"Milan have taken Urby Emanuelson and Mark van Bommel.
"We will see what happens in June. My hope though is to keep Criscito beyond that."
