Wolfsburg coach Steve McClaren's time at the helm is up as the German club look to appoint Red Bull Salzburg's Huub Stevens to replace him at the VW Stadium.
And, the former England boss could be ousted by the end of the day if his side fail to beat Bayern Munich.
Bild.de reports that German sporting director Dieter Hoeness has already opened dialogue with Stevens to replace McClaren.
Hoeness worked with Stevens at Hertha Berlin, and it is said the coach has given his availability to come in at short notice.
Stevens would be tasked with turning around Wolfsburg's fortunes. The club has struggled badly this season during McClaren's six months in charge.
