Milan are looking at Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko as a resource for January while still keeping Bayern Munich's Mark Van Bommel in mind.
Club CEO Adriano Galliani is focusing the market on midfielders and has identified Sissoko as a possibility.
The 25-year-old Mali international is likely to leave, and La Gazzetta dello Sport understands a lack of action is prompting an exit.
Sissoko would prefer a move back to the Premier League if he does leave, but strong interest from the league leaders could force him to reconsider.
Meanwhile, there is still noise in relation to interest for Van Bommel. His agent Mino Raiola said there was still time to negotiate, signalling an opening to dialogue.
"I can say that there is still time until January 31. We will see what happens," Raiola said Thursday.
