Sunderland Manager Steve Bruce Eyes Swedish Defender Adam Johansson As Cover For Injured Bramble And Turner – Report

Sunderland are reportedly attempting to resolve their current defensive worries in the January transfer window by lining up a bid for Swedish defender Adam Johansson according to the Daily Mail.

Defenders Titus Bramble and Michael Turner are sidelined due to injuries at the moment whilst there is also concern for Marcos Angeleri who has been frequently linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light.

Johansson, meanwhile, currently plays for IFK Gothenburg and can play on either right or left side. Yet the Black Cats may face a battle for his signature as Fiorentina have also been linked with the 27-year-old.

The defender is valued at around the £2.5 million mark and as Sunderland have kept only six out of a possible 16 clean sheets this season, he could prove a tempting option for manager Steve Bruce.
