Since Walter Samuel suffered a season-ending injury, Inter have been heavily linked with a move for Genoa defender Andrea Ranocchia in the January transfer window.
The Nerazzurri are co-owners of the centre-back, who recently earned his first cap for Italy, but Grifoni president Enrico Preziosi has made it clear he'd like to hang on to one of his prized players for the duration of the season.
However, according to sportal.it, Genoa may be willing to give up the 22-year-old if midfielder MacDonald Mariga is included in the deal. The Kenyan started the season well under Rafael Benitez, but has now lost his spot in the line-up after suffering a muscle injury.
Like Ranocchia, the young Kenyan is considered a very promising prospect and an emerging talent in Serie A.
Inter host Parma this weekend, while Genoa visit struggling Brescia.
