Inter Boss Rafael Benitez Plotting €7 Million Swoop For Real Zaragoza Midfielder Ander Herrera - Report

European champions Inter to offer €7m for Real Zaragoza's emerging talent Ander Herrera, reports from Spain suggest.
Serie A giants Inter are planning a January swoop for Real Zaragoza starlet Ander Herrera, according to reports from Spain.

El Mundo Deportivo comments that the 21-year-old midfielder is admired by Nerazzurri coach Rafa Benitez, who identified Herrera as a transfer target during his time in charge at Liverpool.

The Spanish u-21 international is tipped for a big future, and with his club struggling financially and also on the pitch, with no wins from their first six league games of the season, they could be forced to listen to any offers when the transfer window reopens.

Benitez reckons that an offer of €7m would be sufficient to persuade the Blanquillos to enter into negotiations over a possible transfer to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Herrera is currently contracted to la Romareda until the summer of 2013, but it is thought that he would be extremely interested in moving to Italy should the opportunity present itself.

The Bilbao-born player made his breakthrough for Zaragoza during the 2009-10 season, and has now become an integral part of coach Jose Aurelio Gay’s plans.
