Marek Hamsik will put pen to paper and sign a new deal with Napoli, claims his agent, with reports predicting it could be a five-year pledge.
Negotiations between player and club have been far from brisk as the new deal was in the pipeline before Hamsik played at the World Cup with Slovakia.
Things may have moved slowly, but his agent George Venglos claims they are in the final straight.
"In the next few days Marek's contract will be extended. We have agreed everything and it was all decided at the start of the week," Venglos is quoted as saying by Tuttonapoli.net.
"The Napoli fans can rest assured and be happy."
Napoli have not confirmed the new deal officially, but an announcement is expected.
