Giuseppe Rossi is set to remain with La Liga side Villarreal this summer, according to the player’s agent.
Federico Pastorello, who represents the 23-year-old, believes Rossi will stay in Spain despite previously being linked with former club Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as Italian outfits Juventus, Roma and Fiorentina.
“Giuseppe Rossi will probably stay at Villarreal,” Pastorello told Sky Italia.
“He has another three years left on his deal, even if important proposals don’t arrive.”
Fiorentina emerged eager to sign the forward after striker Stevan Jovetic suffered an injury which will cause him to miss the majority of the season.
When asked about a possible move to Fiorentina, Pastorello said: “Fiorentina? There is an appreciation by the club, but it seems to me that the Viola won’t make a move in the market.”
