Napoli are seeking replacements in midfield after losing Luca Cigarini to Sevilla this week and have turned their attention to two players over the Alps in France.
Girondins de Bordeaux's skillful Brazilian Wendel and Blaise Matuidi of Saint-Etienne are in the sights of the Partenopei, according to the Napolipress.
Wendel would likely cost the Naples side a large sum; the attacking midfielder has become an integral part of the Bordeaux set up since joining from Santos in 2006.
The defensive midfielder Matuidi has made 87 appearances for Sainté over the past three seasons and his performances earned him the captain's armband at the beginning of last season. The 23-year-old has also represented the France under-21 side.
