Liverpool have been given the green light to continue their pursuit of Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen from Juventus, despite the player's agent revealing no offers had yet been received.
Liverpool are scoping out a potential replacement for wantaway Argentine Javier Mascherano, who has been linked with a deal to reunite the midfielder with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez at Inter.
Liverpool have been given the green light to capture the experienced Dane, but agent Joern Bonnesen has stated there has been no contact yet.
"I do not like comment on speculation," said Bonnesen to Tuttosport.
"The player will be available to consider any concrete offers. Meanwhile he is remaining calm and continuing to work."
In this case Liverpool look likely to land their man, which could explode a transfer market frenzy, with Juventus chasing a number of players pending extra funds, and Inter could be allowed to raid Liverpool for their targets.
