Christian Poulsen's potential move to Liverpool will have a domino effect on the pan-European transfer market. Inter are set to profit as they will sign Javier Mascherano once the Juventus man heads to Anfield.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims Massimo Moratti will command his troops to sign the Argentinian, who is wanted by coach Rafael Benitez at San Siro.
Mascherano has made it clear he wants to leave after telling coach Roy Hodgson his days on Merseyside are over. And while the player's will is clear, Inter have not moved to make an official offer yet. They are waiting to resolve Mario Balotelli's and Maicon's futures.
Poulsen would also have to join the Reds before Inter make their move. Hodgson is keen on the player and despite his agent denying reports, he too has changed his tune, claiming something could happen.
Joan Bonnesen said: "He coached him some time ago at Copenhagen and they had a great relationship.
"Hodgson has always wanted him, but he has never been able to get him. I know they have spoken a lot over the last two years and it's not unthinkable that Poulsen goes to Liverpool.
"Nothing has been decided. Juventus have to speak with Liverpool."
