Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce have completed the transfer of highly rated attacker Issiar Dia from Ligue 1 side Nancy for a reputed fee of €8 million. The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal with his new club.
Fenerbahce narrowly missed out on the Turkcell Super Lig title last term and new head coach Aykut Kocaman was eager to add some fresh blood to his ranks ahead of the new season in order to be competitive again.
They previously secured the services of young winger Miroslav Stoch from Chelsea and have now also captured versatile attacker Dia. The Istanbul side will present the Senegalese international to the press later this week.
Dia started his professional career at Amiens and joined Nancy in the summer of 2006. He quickly developed into an important first team player at Nancy and has made well over 100 official appearances for the French outfit.
Dia is expected to form a three-men attack with Spanish striker Dani Guiza and Stoch in the 2010-11 campaign.
