Palermo Claim Simon Kjaer Will Join Wolfsburg

From Tottenham to Wolfsburg...
Palermo have changed their tune with Simon Kjaer as sporting director Walter Sabatini claims the defender is heading to German outfit Wolfsburg, not Tottenham.

It's all change regarding Kjaer. On Tuesday Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini said Tottenham had made a €35 million bid for the defender and striker Edinson Cavani.

However, Goal.com UK revealed Tottenham had denied making an offer, leaving Palermo to look elsewhere for buyers.

And, having heard of Tottenham's denial in making any bid, Palermo have been quick to turn Kjaer towards other clubs.

"I think Wolfsburg is the most likely destination for Kjaer," Sabatini told Rete Rete 24.

"Compared to Marco Biagianti, this is a real deal."

Sabatini referred to reports in which Catania midfielder Biagianti was linked with a Rosanero switch, but he denied it.

"There is no deal for Biagianti and I don't understand how these voices come about."

The voices though were not strictly confined to media rumours as Catania chief executive Pietro Lo Monaco claimed Palermo had shown an interest.

"Palermo like Biagianti, but it's not a novelty," he told Stadionews.it.

But when asked whether the interest was real, the player's agent Roberto La Florio told Itasportpress.it: "I don't know nothing about Palermo."
