Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of FC Twente attacker Marko Arnautovic, who spent an ill-fated year on loan at Inter last term.
Sporting director of the Bundesliga outfit, Klaus Allofs, has declared that the 21-year-old forward has penned a four-year deal with Werder.
“We are pleased that it was possible to reach an agreement with FC Twente after good negotiations,” he explained. “Marko Arnautovic has great potential. We trust him with a good role in our team.”
Thomas Schaaf, the coach of the side, was equally pleased with the capture. “Marko is a young, very talented striker. We are sure that he is a sporting asset to us and can still continue to improve with us.”
Arnautovic, who has won five caps for Austria, was plagued by injury issues during his stint with the European champions and is clearly looking forward to getting regular first team action after only three league appearances last term.
“Werder are very successful working with young players. I see a great opportunity to take the next step in my career,” he stated.
The attacker begins work with his new side on July 5.
